We will make sure that you have the right heat pump for your home. The most important thing is to get the right size to ensure maximum comfort along with energy efficiency.
Several factors influence the size of a heat pump. One crucial factor is the local climate, particularly here on the South Shore, as it determines the number of days you’ll require heating and cooling each year. The size of your home, the quality of insulation, the number and placement of windows, and the presence of heat-generating appliances, like a clothes dryer, are also important considerations.
A too-big heat pump consumes excessive energy for heating and cooling, undermining the energy-saving potential that heat pumps provide. On the other hand, an undersized heat pump fails to meet the heating and cooling demands of your home. It strains to keep up, leading to higher energy expenses and premature wear and tear, diminishing the return on your investment.
Experience peak efficiency and year-round comfort when you entrust your heat pump system to the skilled HVAC technicians of Atlantic-Pratt. Our team ensures optimal performance while extending the lifespan of your system, which can exceed 20 years with our meticulous maintenance.

Installing air-source heat pumps is a straightforward and uncomplicated process. These pumps consist of two units: the indoor unit, known as the compressor, and the outdoor unit, known as the evaporator. These units are connected by a conduit that houses condensate drain lines, power lines, tubing and communication lines.
To ensure proper operation during winter, the outdoor units must be connected above the snow line.
Your home’s electrical system will be connected to your heat pumps. If you have ductwork in your home, some ducted heat pumps will also be connected to it.
There has been a big promotion for using heat pumps all around the country, including right here in Massachusetts.
That means that upgrading your home heating to heat pumps can put money back in your pocket! Mass Save is offering rebates for upgrading to qualifying heat pumps that, depending on what you install and your income level, could earn you up to $16,600 in rebates! You also may be able to qualify for federal tax rebates, as well.
Atlantic-Pratt will help you through the process to ensure you get any and all qualifying rebates for your new heat pump.
